Vocational Institute of Michigan (VIM)/D`Angus Technology
(DAT)
Become a VIM Intern and join DAT Training and Placement monitors
program for building operations, maintenance, or information technology.
Characteristics of DAT may include:
Duration
of anywhere from a month to two years, but a typical lasts from three to six months.
Generally a one-time experience but may be available for persons entering new fields.
May be part-time or full-time.
May
be paid or non-paid.
May be part of a public or private educational program.
DAT learning activities include learning objectives, observation, reflection, evaluation and
assessment.
An effort is made to establish a reasonable balance between
the interns’s learning goals and the specific work required in industry.
DAT programs promote academic, career and/or personal development.

May accept persons without high school GED or diploma if at 9th grade reading and comprehension level, candidates
entering the Facility Engineer Technician program must obtain a GED before they will receive a diploma.
